TheAssistant Manager - Cord Blood CollectionsinGainesville, FL, is responsible for assisting with the management of the cellular therapy collections, which includes marketing, partner and donor outreach and recruitment, ensuring collection goals are met, and promoting and meeting the needs of various collection programs and projects. This position must provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers and will work closely with and collaborate with various internal departments as well as external customers and partners to ensure collection goals are met and that viable units are collected.

Responsibilities (but are not limited to)

  • Knowledge of all duties and responsibilities in the Cord Blood Coordinator and Cord Blood Collection Specialist job descriptions

  • Assist upper management with the oversight of cord blood collections and recruitment

  • Assist with managing and monitoring the collection and recruitment budget

  • Track and manage equipment related to cord blood collections

  • Ensure hospitals, physician offices and collection staff have appropriate equipment and supplies

  • Perform outreach to collection site collectors, hospital personnel, and physician offices

  • Prepare presentations and formally present to current and potential partners and donors about cellular therapy collections, including cord blood collections

  • Work with upper management on personnel functions, such as hiring, disciplinary action, and performance reviews of collection staff

  • Review and approve staff expense reports and reimbursement requests

  • Review and approve staff timesheets and PTO requests

  • May be expected to work various hours both on-site and off-site to fulfill the needs and obligations of the department

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)

  • Advanced computer skills and experience with computer programs such as MS Office

  • Ability and willingness to travel is essential to this position

  • Valid driver's license required. Must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements.

The employee must have a valid driver's license to drive their vehicle or a company vehicle to various worksite locations as required by the employer.

  • Two years management or supervisory experience preferred

  • Two years of sales/recruitment experience in a healthcare environment preferred
