Lawn Care Assistant Job Description
The lawn care assistant's responsibilities include maintaining the yards of private and corporate clients, mowing lawns, planting grass, and ensuring that green spaces look beautiful.
To be successful as a lawn care assistant, you should have a willingness to learn and work well in a team or on your own. Ultimately, a lawn care assistant can safely operate various types of equipment and has physical strength and stamina.
Lawn Care Assistant Responsibilities:
- Communicating with the Owner and identifying yard maintenance needs.
- Mowing grass and trimming hedges and trees.
- Collecting debris (yard clippings, leaves, small branches, trash on grass, etc.)
- Work with hand tools and basic light machinery such as lawnmowers, weed whips, blowers, and trimmers.
- Ensure a safe environment for staff and clients by adhering to safety and health regulations.
Lawn Care Assistant Requirements:
- Familiarity with lawn care equipment and tools.
- Ability to handle a range of horticultural machinery and powered hand tools.
- Manual agility, physical strength, and stamina.
- Attention to individual and team safety.
- Attention to customer property and avoiding damage.
- Willingness to learn additional skills.
- OSHA certification or solid understanding of health and safety rules and legislation.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
