JOB DESCRIPTION The Area Fleet Manager is responsible to Manage day-to-day operations of an area fleet domiciled in multiple locations. Ensure the efficient, productive, and safe operation of this fleet. Support Facilities/Operations in their transportation needs. Responsibilities: * Develops policies and procedures for the efficient and safe operation of the area fleet * The first point of contact for operational information including but not limited to delivery services, Inbound services, issues, driver scheduling/availability, and driver concerns * Submits recommendations for the development of compliance with transportation policies, procedures, and programs * Conducts continuous analysis of vehicles and schedules to increase efficiency and lower costs * Responsible for the fleet financial statement for the area fleet assignment, including budgeting * Reviews and analyzes reports such as revenue and performance records to evaluate productivity and for recommended changes * Recruits, orients, trains, and monitors the progression of new drivers * Monitor's turnover, evaluates operation mileage, equipment, time off, and pay, makes recommendations, and establishes programs to minimize turnover * Enforces compliance and administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations, i.e., logs, equipment condition, etc. * Directs operation and maintenance of equipment and communication systems; reviews procedures; provides guidance to resolve technical problems; analyzes costs and recommends cost control measures; and develops plans, policies, and budgets * Other duties as assigned Requirements: * Bachelor's degree preferred - Supply Chain or Logistics oriented is preferred * 5+ years transportation/fleet management experience * Demonstrated ability to manage fleet and fleet personnel * Knowledge and understanding of FMCSRs and DOT Compliance * Ability to travel up to 40% * Understanding of vehicle maintenance related to semi-trailers and diesel tractors ABOUT US Do you want to work with people who are dedicated to innovation and making the world a better place?
