Job Summary

Heavy civil construction roller operator position will include, but not be limited to, operating rollers to compact different roadway sub-grade materials, drainage and retaining walls, and earthwork activities. Previous experience on highway construction desired. Location: Gaffney, SC.

Essential Functions

  • Operate roller to compact different sub-grade layers

  • May operate other heavy equipment, such as loader, dozer, skid steer, etc.

  • Follow all required company and general safety rules, policies and guidelines

  • Possess knowledge of soil compaction equipment and general sub-grade operations

  • Perform compaction duties as required

  • The above-listed duties may require long periods of sitting, walking, and standing

    Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years of previous heavy equipment experience preferred

  • Previous experience in highway construction

  • Other heavy equipment experiences preferred: excavator, backhoe, loader, dozer, etc.

  • Physical ability to perform assigned tasks

  • Physical ability to walk on uneven terrain

  • Ability to recognize hazard conditions while operating equipment

  • Must be able to climb the equipment’s ladder to reach the operator's seat

  • Heavy equipment operator knowledge of soil compaction
