Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a strong foundation in tax, audit, and financial accounting. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and procedures, as well as a passion for delivering accurate and insightful financial solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Taxation:

Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns in compliance with current tax laws and regulations.

Assist clients in tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial benefits.

Research and stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws to ensure accurate and current tax reporting.

Audit:

Participate in audit engagements by performing substantive testing, analytical reviews, and internal control assessments.

Gather and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and auditing standards.

Prepare audit workpapers and documentation to support findings and conclusions.

Financials:

Prepare financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.

Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Collaborate with clients to provide meaningful insights into their financial performance and help drive informed business decisions.

Client Relations:

Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and resource for their financial needs.

Communicate effectively to explain complex financial concepts and findings in a clear and understandable manner.

Professional Development:

Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes to enhance professional knowledge and expertise.

Participate in training and development programs to further develop skills and advance within the firm.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA certification or progress towards obtaining CPA certification is preferred.

Minimum of three years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax and audit.

Strong understanding of GAAP, tax laws, and auditing standards.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
