Description
Position Summary:
Person in this position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
Administrative supervision of MAI staff including Care coordinator, Health Educator and Outreach services providers.
Monitor the adherence to the policies and procedures of the program;
Conduct monthly quality assurance reviews of the case files to ensure compliance with program standards;
Facilitate health education groups, family groups and assist clients of the program;
Responsible for ensuring facility compliance with health, fire, safety and other regulatory standards;
Mediate client issues that cannot be appropriately resolved at the program level;
Ensure that the agency systems for collecting statistical data necessary for program evaluation, planning, justification and staff training are collected as required;
Fill in for staff during times they may be unavailable due to illness, training, vacation etc.;
Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports as requested;
Assist and monitor data collection and statistical reporting and complete Quality Improvement reports as requested;
Maintain relationships with referring and supporting agencies and represent the agency at various community meetings as requested;
Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Experience consisting of a minimum of three (3) years working in a substance abuse treatment program;
One (1) year experience in supervision/management;
Must possess knowledge of chemical dependency, substance abuse and personality dynamics of the substance abuser;
A valid California driver’s license; and
CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an Annual Tuberculosis test.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or a related field is preferred and may be required for some programs.
Certification in drug and alcohol counseling, in good standing isrequired at time of hire
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office or residential treatment setting; and
Some outdoor activities may be required.
Physical Demands:
The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, BUT exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks;
Occasional lifting of more than 10 pounds;
Transportation of clients in company vehicle;
Occasional risk of intensive physical activity with clients; and
Sitting, standing, walking, reaching are performed in the normal course of the position.
