SANDUSKY COUNTY Facility Management Facility Management Director in Fremont, Ohio

Facility Management Director Full-Time Facility Management Work Location: Sandusky County Buildings and Facilities AN EXAMPLE OF MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDES: Completion of a bachelor's degree with major coursework in business or public administration, or equivalent combination of education, training and / or experience demonstrating considerable background in planning, organizing and directing the operational and administrative functions of a Public Sector Department; comprehensive financial/budgeting skills; strong interpersonal/communication skills; leadership abilities; and prior project management experience. Shall have a minimum of seven years documented administrative experience, including the accountability for managing a skilled and/or semi-skilled work force; managing the fiscal aspects of a department including the preparation of an annual operating budget along with implementing budgetary controls for department's maintenance & repair programs. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR EQUPMENT OPERATED REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Ohio vehicle operator's license with an acceptable driving record. Light truck/motor vehicle, snow removal equipment, computer, calculator, and office copier experience. WORK DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Administers, supervises and coordinates programs, operations and activities of Facility Management staff; ensure applicable building codes and safety and environmental regulations are adhered to; assists with planning, coordinates and monitors the assignments regarding all County owned buildings and grounds. Maintains time and material records; responsible for maintaining and implementing County work order and preventative maintenance system. Provides day-to-day leadership by administering internal fiscal operations including annual operating budget. Monitor the operating budget by approving requisitions and expenditures for materials. Assists in budget preparation, capital expenditures and building interior replacement / repair expenditures. Analyzes and evaluates programs, policies and procedures; directs the course of action for repairs; provides training for personnel for specialized projects or techniques. Meets with County Commissioners and / or other Elected Officials, consultants, contractors, and other individuals regarding construction capital improvement projects or other facilities planning and improvement activities. Responsible for all personnel notices, evaluations, leave requests, etc. Assists with administrative support during disasters and prepares for and attends various meetings. Receives and responds to routine inquiries. Monitors utility usage bills of County buildings; monitors County underground storage tanks and maintains records. Complete related duties by planning for special events; coordinates projects with other departments.
