As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within our dynamic Sartorius BioAnalytical Instruments group, you'll drive innovation and spearhead cutting-edge solutions for our bioanalytical instruments. This technical-lead role is dedicated to designing, developing, and implementing solutions that cater to our customers' needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Service, and Operations. We're looking for a passionate innovator with a proven track record of delivering practical solutions.

PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS ON SITE BASED IN FREMONT, CA

What you will accomplish together with us:

• Develop products and corresponding processes which meet customer requirements throughout the product development life cycle.

• Applies engineering best practices and tools to design mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies.

• Provide leadership in design analysis, design prototyping, and feasibility models.

• Keep abreast of latest developments in process technology, including molding, automation, packaging, and liquid handling.

• Identify and interact with vendors to obtain engineering materials, processes, and equipment.

• Create and present technical presentations.

What will convince us:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

• 7+ years relevant experience in product design and development of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems

• Experience with flow cytometry is a plus

• Experience with fluidic and/or microfluidic design is a plus

• Experience with Optomechanical design is a plus

• Previous experience with research / scientific instrumentation or medical device development

• Strong aptitude for hands-on engineering and experimentation in a lab/shop environment

• Highly proficient using Solidworks CAD software

• Demonstrated knowledge of DFM, GD&T, and FEA

  Compensation for this position will be a base salary between $115 ,000.00 and $175,000.00 plus bonus depending on experience.
