Job Title: Rigger

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Rigger to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for lifting and moving extremely large or heavy objects, ensuring the safety of themselves and others, and maintaining rigging equipment in good working condition. This role involves operating various machinery and tools to safely maneuver loads through difficult and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a lifting and moving strategy for various items.

  • Lift and move extremely large or heavy objects on a regular basis (a minimum of 50 pounds).

  • Select appropriate gear for each job to avoid injury and damage to freight and machinery.

  • Inspect rigging equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.

  • Attach and detach loads in compliance with safety rules and regulations.

  • Safely maneuver loads through difficult and confined spaces.

  • Examine tools and equipment needed for each job on a daily or as-needed basis.

  • Monitor, fix, and replace tools and equipment as needed.

  • Report and escalate all concerns or situations to management immediately.

  • Operate machinery including but not limited to forklift, pallet jack, and similar equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in warehouse, inventory, unloading, loading, shipping, and receiving.

  • Skilled in operating forklifts, lifting boxes, disassembly, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipment.

  • Unafraid of heights, able to climb ladders, and walk across scaffolding.

  • Sound judgment, initiative, tenacity, and flexibility.

  • Strong communication and cooperative working skills.

  • Good math skills for calculating load requirements.

  • Reliability and the ability to work extended hours as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Crane certification preferred or the ability to get certified.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured as needed.

  • 2 years of experience in rigging, construction, welding, or electrician work.

  • Significant work experience as a rigger, 2+ years minimum.

  • Experience with crane assembly and disassembly.

  • Capable of working with power tools, drilling, and anchoring.

  • Basic English communication skills (Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred).

Work Environment

This role involves traveling as a ride-along with a driver to various sites within a 3-mile radius. The work schedule can range from 5 am to 8 am, typically falling between 6 am and 7 am, with the likelihood of working 45-50 hours per week. The job requires compliance with all safety standards and attending required meetings and trainings.
