responsibilities:

Required Knowledge:

Knowledge of the fundamental electrical engineering principles, concepts, and practices, which constitute the core of knowledge required of the construction program acquired by a bachelor's degree in engineering supplemented by field experience. Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices to sufficiently permit the incumbent to serve as the technical and business Project Lead for designated projects. The position also requires a comprehensive knowledge of site planning, building design, construction means/methods/codes, scheduling, material/labor cost estimating to sufficiently evaluate general compliance, environmental health, safety, and protection requirements.

• Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices.

• Extensive experience handling electrical engineering and residential projects.

• Comprehensive knowledge in site planning, building design, and construction means, methods, and codes.

• Extensive knowledge of scheduling, material and labor cost estimating sufficient to evaluate compliance with environmental health, safety, and protection requirements.

• Uses computers/computer software such as information management programs, computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs, and project tracking programs to solve engineering problems and facilitate work.

• Provide expert professional technical assistance and support to the organization in the electrical engineering field.

• Perform engineering and project management work to protect life, safety, health, and property.

• Review designs, plans, and specifications for electrical systems of various sizes and complexity for use in primarily residential facilities.

• Provide professional consultations on a wide range of difficult unforeseen problems such as design interfaces, regulatory limitations, exchanging information, and expediting work.

• Review preliminary and final engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure design excellence and compliance with specifications.

• Use computer software including management programs and project tracking programs to solve engineering problems and facilitate work.

• Manage construction projects for construction, renovations, and improvements to residential facilities.

• Assist in analyzing the critical path schedule for design and construction projects.

• Prepare, review, and approve project documents for design, construction, renovation, or repair projects.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and at least 6 years of experience
