Summary

The System Administrator II is responsible for the planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining of hardware and software systems. Requires working with end users and other ITS functions to troubleshoot complex problems and a wide range of issues. The System Administrator II role requires a service-oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned with a focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level end-user technical support on client hardware systems, mobile devices, computer peripherals, telecommunications equipment, and client/ server/ cloud application software.

  • Develop and maintain client software application packages, software updates/patches, and client operating system images for deployment and compliance. System administration for on premise and off-premise business applications.

  • Microsoft System Administration including Exchange email account and distribution list management, Active Directory user and computer management, and user/client Group Policy Object management.

  • ITSM ticket routing and escalation of incident, change, problem, and service requests.

  • Maintain enterprise-wide tools for client systems management including but not limited to patching and endpoint protection.

  • Develops and maintains records by documenting procedures used for system processes, configurations, and standards and following the incident, problem, and change management processes.

  • Configures, installs, and maintains client and server hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives onsite or remotely.

  • Communicates effectively and coordinates with contracted 3rd parties to accomplish IT related tasks at local and remote sites.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 2-Year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience and 4 - 8 years related work experience required. Requires ITIL Foundations certification.

  • Preferred Certification(s): Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist; Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), Certified ServiceNow Administrator, CompTIA A and/or Network .

  • Experience supporting, implementing, and administering networks such as Microsoft Windows 2008 , Active Directory and Group Policies (GPO) – 6 years.

  • Experience supporting Windows 7 and above desktops/laptops /tablets – 6 years.

  • Demonstrated experience of building Operating system images for multiple hardware platforms – 6 years.

  • Strong Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and WSUS experience – 6 years.

  • Demonstrated experience with operating system and application patching / updates – 6 years.

  • Experience with Citrix supported environments a plus – 6 years.

  • Experience with Android and iPhone smartphones – 6 years.

  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies and scripting – 6 years.

  • Experience to develop workflows based on incident, change, and problem procedures – 3 years.

  • Demonstrated experience with IT Service Management tool responsibilities – 6 years.

  • Demonstrated ability to write scripts in some administrative language, such as Windows PowerShell – 2 years.
