Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage and motivate a team of production staff (operators, team leaders, technicians, etc.) to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.

  • Optimize Processes: Implement and oversee efficient production processes to maximize output and minimize waste.

  • Ensure Quality: Maintain high standards of product quality and safety, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Drive Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.

Additionally:

  • Establish and lead plant safety objectives while ensuring compliance to safety policies and procedures.

  • Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing function to ensure the most effective return on assets.

  • Interact regularly with Production Frontline Leaders and production employees to provide direction and leadership. Be a visible presence in manufacturing areas

  • Maintain ISO compliant manufacturing records.

  • Ensure compliance to all site quality policies and procedures.

  • Support regional quality standard systems for commercialization, SPC, and preventive and corrective action.

  • Ensure compliance to daily production schedule.

  • Conduct daily operations meetings and periodic plant communications meetings. Ensure budget and financial forecasts are developed and met.

  • Partner with Finance function to provide accurate operational information and establish product costs and update standard assumptions.

  • Partner with the Supply Chain function to ensure timely, effective and efficient procurement, planning, inventory levels and delivery of finished goods.

  • Partner with the Human Resources function to ensure effective management of human capital.

  • Participate in long term strategic planning involving the optimum utilization of Berry Global assets and human resources.

  • Through leveraged knowledge of current technology and market trends, participates in the definition of advanced products required to sustain a cost-effective competitive position.

  • Responsible for driving the full implementation of cost improvement programs to consistently maintain a cost competitive edge in the manufacturing of products.

  • Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital.

  • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory requirements.

  • Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance and process excellence

  • Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving and cost reduction.

  • Ensure effective labor utilization within departments to allow for maximum return on labor investment.

  • Manage spending against budget and in relation to production volume.

  • Establish management practices in department to encourage employees’ positive involvement, with the opportunity for constructive input and action.

  • Ensure effective communication with all employees.

  • Responsible for directing and executing planning process to drive continuous improvement activities in the department.

  • Supports operational excellence effort for the department.

  • Responsible for training and development for the department.

  • Direct or support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades.

  • May lead or participate in regional or global projects.

  • Provide backup for Plant Manager.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a production management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education required.

  • 5 years minimum in a leadership role in manufacturing.
