Guidehouse System Administrator (Enterprise Data Catalog) in Frankfort, Kentucky

We are building out a team of varying levels (junior, mid-journeyman, and senior) for a new initiative supporting a modernization project for the CDC. The work can be performed remotely.

What You Will Do :

  • Support the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, modifications, security, and upgrading of IT systems and components.

  • Analyze complex system requirements and hardware/software problems; diagnose issues and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Configure and administer the Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) at the system level; ensure that the EDC platform adheres to government regulations and industry best practices.

  • Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure that all infrastructure is automated and scalable.

  • Actively monitor IT systems performance; identify issues; determine beneficial adjustments; and follow through on change implementation in compliance with all configuration change policies and processes.

  • Work with client leadership and key stakeholders to ensure consistency and support of the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) needs.

  • Facilitate configuration and change management processes as applied to client information components, products, and systems.

  • Promote transparency and communication across the IT enterprise – project management, database administration, networking, security, software development, product owners, end users, etc. – to facilitate a feedback loop and comprehensive solutions.

  • Maintain system administration documentation and runbooks.

What You Will Need :

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

  • Strong understanding of data cataloging concepts, metadata standards (Dublin Core, ISO 11179) and management, data modeling methods, data management practices, data governance principles, and data integration approaches

  • Experience supporting Enterprise Data Catalogs (EDCs) tools and platforms

  • Skilled at performing technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization duties across a variety of systems on-prem and in the cloud

  • Understanding of data privacy and security practices within a cataloging environment

  • Experience writing shell scripts and familiarity with basic programming languages (Python, C, Ruby, Perl, R).

  • Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively and confidently communicate – in writing and presenting – complex topics and procedures with team members and all levels of client stakeholders

  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects concurrently, work collaboratively with diverse teams, meet deadlines, and deliver quality

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • Professional technical certifications to demonstrate competencies

  • ITIL certification and/or experience

The annual salary range for this position is $104,200.00-$156,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
