Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY SURFACE MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST-TITLE 32, Position Description Number D1251000 and is part of the KY SMO, National Guard. Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY SURFACE MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST-TITLE 32, GS-1601-12, you will direct, coordinate, and oversee the work of subordinate supervisors and employees. Plan, schedule and assign work. Exercise significant responsibilities dealing with headquarters' personnel, senior commanders, and staff officers of other units, organizations, and commands. Resolve decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors. Evaluate subordinate supervisors' work performance and serve as a reviewing official. Ensure that maintenance facilities manage workflow to attain established backlog goals. Ensure property is authorized, maintained, and properly accounted for. Ensure established ratios for direct and indirect employees are maintained. Evaluate performance, provides counsel, advice and instructions for immediate subordinates. Conduct or participate in reviews of serious disciplinary cases. Develop, implement, and oversee the quality assurance program for assigned surface maintenance facilities to ensure production goals as established and attained. Oversee and participate with other involved officials in developing plans and procedures for assuring quality and reliability of work products. Provide technical guidance to assigned maintenance activities through coordinated assistance and/or evaluation visits. Ensure the state maintenance support plan is reviewed and updated. Responsible for conducting periodical inspections of maintenance activities to determine adequacy of work, storage; and to support current density of equipment supported and personnel employed. Provide an analysis of needs, develops requirements, and coordinates recommendations to ensure adequate facilities are established and maintained. Manage the state's Command Maintenance Evaluation Team (COMET). Analyze COMET results, develops plans to assist or correct systemic problems, and monitors implementation. Manage the safety and health program for maintenance facilities and operations including instruction in safe operating procedures and policies. Responsible for the hazardous waste/industrial hygiene program for the surface maintenance facilities. Perform other duties as assigned. POC is Debra Neal, 502-607-1360. Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Grades: MAJ(O4) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare eligibility. This position is located on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must attended Supervisor Training: failure to complete Supervisor Training within 12 months of appointment will result in reversion to previous position. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, skilled in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 36 months experience: Applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operations sufficient in designing projects or planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restoration, repair needs, printing design layout, etc. Experience working and serving as the contractor representative to ensure compliance with the contract scheduling and sequence of operations. Experience coordinating work forces and resources and negotiating with management or clients concerning problems. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates (Example 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981 or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981), work schedule, and hours worked per week of employment.
