Humana Manager, Community Management in Frankfort, Kentucky

The Manager, Community Management, supervises regional Community Management Representatives and works collaboratively with them to cultivate the organization's relationship with community based organizations that serve the Medicaid-eligible population, through community advocacy programs, sponsorships, and events. The Manager, Community Management works within specific guidelines and procedures; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems; receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines approach, resources, schedules and goals.

The Manager, Community Management leads a team of Community Management Representatives to build visibility and credibility of our Humana Healthy Horizon's in Kentucky Medicaid plan by providing education regarding our Medicaid plan and services throughout our Kentucky communities via community events, advocacy meetings, programs, and sponsorships. The Manager strategizes methods to engage communities and drive greater connections among community members and community based organizations, including nonprofits, schools, houses of worship, and other external partners. This individual works with leadership to develop and implement annual strategies and goals, facilitates detailed project planning and budget development and maintenance, tracks progress, and ultimately works toward increased brand presence and membership. Decisions prioritize health equity and are typically related to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives that may involve cross-departmental collaboration. This individual works across multiple departments including Quality, Population Health, Marketing and Enrollee services to gain support for successful plan execution.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide rigorous coaching and development for Community Management, Humana's community and member facing outreach team. This includes implementing training and sales materials that promote health equity and differentiate Humana's products from competitors.

  • Create a positive culture amongst the field reps and creates an atmosphere of creative problem resolution.

  • Provide strategic input in development and execution of strategic and authentic community relationships and member and community interventions (VAS, go365, pilots, etc.) to address health disparities, improve health outcomes, and reduce excess medical spend.

  • Use data and seeks feedback from Member, Provider, and Community Advisory Groups to inform the development and delivery of programs and services that engage community, address health related social needs, and eliminate health disparities.

  • Manage end-to-end performance and process improvement projects.

  • Must have a good working knowledge of the Kentucky Medicaid Marketing Guidelines, provide annual training and understand the potential regulatory impact. Must maintain working knowledge of plan benefit and program changes.

  • Set and ensure team productivity metrics are being met, while staying in budget. Must assure proper workflows are in place, technology is used appropriately and reporting is in place to achieve results on all.

  • Perform any other job related instructions, as requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of marketing, community outreach engagement, or related experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Project Leadership, Subject Matter Expert, or Quality Coaching, etc.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Intermediate professional experience utilizing Microsoft Office

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • People Leadership including hiring, training, coaching up to termination

  • Bi-lingual skills

  • Valid Kentucky Health Insurance License. License is required within 6 months from employment

  • Previous Event Marketing experience

  • Previous experience working within the healthcare field

  • Previous experience working in Medicaid

Additional Information

Workstyle: Field-based position

Location: Kentucky

Preferred Location: Within reasonable traveling distance to Louisville Kentucky

  • If located outside the city of Louisville, may require regular visits to Humana office located at: 101 E. Main Street, Louisville, KY 40202

Schedule:

  • Core business hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday. Hours subject to change based on business need.

  • Flexibility - ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, based on business needs.

Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 25% throughout the state of Kentucky to conduct member visits, provider visits and community -based visits as needed to ensure effective administration of the program.

Work-At-Home Requirements To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

  • Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$93,000 - $128,000 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
