DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Equipment Operator, you will pick up and deliver laundry articles to and from facilities, including loading and unloading laundry from the vehicles. You will also supervise inmate workers assigned to laundry operations. This task involves orienting and training new inmates in laundry functions, preparing reports on inmate attendance and hours, and providing input into inmate worker performance reviews. Additionally, you will need to perform routine vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and minor equipment repairs. Additionally, you must complete vehicle safety checklists accurately, maintain the required driver's log, submit mileage reports, conduct inventories, and operate vans, trucks, and tractor-trailers. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment; 40-hour work week. Work hours are 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,753.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in the operation of tractor-trailer trucks; or A combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements: You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class A Commercial Driver's License.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
