Position Summary
As a Transmission Services Consultant at Oncor, you’ll represent the Company as the key point of contact for communications and collaboration with various market entities to meet transmission-level electric service needs, including both establishing and maintaining interconnection with the Oncor transmission system; interconnecting parties could include all types of generating entities and facilities, electric utilities and rural electric cooperatives, and large retail customers.
This role will include the establishment of interconnection, agreement/contract negotiations for such, and the achievement and maintenance of interconnection with the Oncor transmission system to meet the needs of market entities, and the Company, consistent with applicable rules, regulations, and tariff requirements.
This position is a hybrid role based in our 777 Main St – Fort Worth, TX location.
Key Responsibilities :
Responsible for all Company interface activities with the Customer/Utility for the provision of interconnection with the Company’s transmission system, specifically: initial customer/utility consultation to determine expanse, requirements, and schedule of the service request.
Management of the negotiation, development and preparation, and securitization of agreements and contracts with various market entities.
Identification and collection of necessary engineering and financial information for completion of agreements and contracts.
Management and authentication of significant financial transactions to establish and validate interconnection, including contributions-in-aid-of-construction, irrevocable letters of credit, corporate guarantees, and cash deposits.
Management of post-interconnection substantiation of contract controls.
Coordination and resolution of supplementary issues with respect to new and existing interconnections that could include: tariff, metering and billing matters; generator switchyard interconnections and generation interfaces; the modification and maintenance of existing interconnections or other ancillary interconnection issues; sale/purchase. of grid facilities, acquisitions or exchanges; interface for external party communications regarding scheduled outages and other emergency outage matters.
Provide overall Project Management of the interconnection proceeding, including: coordination and management of the cross functional project Team in the development of deliverables, agreements, interconnection plans, and project completion.
Oversight of the entire interconnection process to ensure all parties are in compliance with project obligations to achieve targets, including establishing contract schedules, property rights conditions, management and exchange of technical information, schedule maintenance, meeting financial obligations, and any other items necessary to facilitate interconnection.
Provide expert consultation and direction related to development of interconnection needs, including identification and management of communications with all parties for projects.
Maintain expertise and exercise process controls for regulatory compliance activities for which the Transmission Services organization has responsibilities, including accuracy in record maintenance, proper retention of documents, and application of reporting requirements to satisfy regulatory authority regulations and requirements.
Interact and develop relationships with various market entities and industry organizations to represent the Company and establish constructive working relationships.
Manages work functions and appointed projects and successfully completes objectives of the role with minimum level of guidance and supervision from the Director and/or Manager, Transmission Services.

Skills :
Previous project management leadership experience with ability to consistently meet deadlines, manage assignments with minimal supervision, and adjust to changes in scope, direction, and priorities.
Comprehension of utility market structure with knowledge of rules, practices, and procedures.
Strong leadership abilities, interpersonal, and negotiation skills essential.
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and present to managers and executive leadership team.
Action-oriented with high degree of ability to organize, plan, and control numerous, large projects with exceptional organization and data management skills.
Proficient in PC skills such as Word, Excel, Power Point.
Education & Experience :
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent and 6+ years’ experience with a regulated utility; cross-functional experience desirable, including experience related to transmission and distribution level voltage electric systems, or utility-scale generating plant electric systems, or other comparable experience required.
Applicants with Bachelor of Science Engineering, Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering Technology, Bachelor Degree Construction Project Management; exceptional candidates with Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other Engineering encouraged to apply.

Measure of Success :
Exhibits achievement of the effective, thorough and accurate mutual agreement with various, distinct market entities in the interconnection of Customer facilities with Company’s electric grid
Working knowledge of arrangement and contractual provisions are reached in accordance with all tariff provisions, other regulations and requirements and completed in a timely manner and in accord with Customer’s requested needs.
Ensures all interconnections should be achieved and maintained to complement and optimize Company business objectives.
Management of work functions and appointed projects will be successfully completed with a high level of employee self-motivation and independence and minimum level of oversight and supervision.
