U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Supervisory Civil Engineer in Fort Worth, Texas
Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This Supervisory Civil Engineer position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Fort Worth District, Engineering and Construction Division with a duty station location of Ft. Worth, TX. Responsibilities Responsible for civil site development related design features including but not limited to site layout, paving, grading, drainage, turfing, and landscaping of military construction and civil works projects. Coordinates and reviews work in progress, utilizing knowledge of regulations, guidelines, computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) systems, local area networks, and a variety of engineering software run on CADD workstations and personal computers. Determines, plans, and provides for both long-range and short-term training, and assists employees in career development. Represents the District Engineer in actions and conferences on civil engineering matters related to military and civil works projects. Prepares office memoranda and correspondence with higher authority where controversial and technical site work problems are involved. Workload management of the Civil Section projects and distribution of workload within the team. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing schedules, design cost, and/or construction cost limitations for all assigned projects. AND 3) Utilizing computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) for coordination of civil works projects design such as airfields, runways, roads, streets, earthen dams, channel improvements, levees etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- 12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
