Role Summary/Purpose:

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will design, develop, integrate, test, demonstrate, and maintain embedded software applications and systems. This position will give you the opportunity to develop innovative solutions and products for the next generation of railroad technologies. Work with a talented team of software, electrical, mechanical, system and test engineers to apply and further develop your embedded software and problem-solving skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high quality software products that align with system and subsystem requirements

  • Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions as necessary

  • Develop documentation including software requirements, software design, software testing and FMEAs

  • Actively participate in software architecture, design, and code reviews

  • Execute and enhance the entire software development lifecycle

  • Create and maintain automated unit test cases for new designs

  • Investigate and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities

  • Ensure application development meets product specification requirements

  • Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure system functional and interface requirements are met.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field

  • Strong understanding of software design, methods and architecture approaches

  • Knowledge of software engineering principles

  • Experience with C/C++ software development

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
