Robert Half Credit Manager in Fort Worth, Texas

Description We are seeking a Credit Manager to join our team based in Fort Worth, Texas, operating within the Energy/Natural Resources industry. This role entails the overall administration and enforcement of the company's credit policy, along with the development and improvement of the operational goals of the Credit Department. The role requires a high level of discretion and independent judgment due to access to confidential information.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the investigation and verification of financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, and make credit term decisions based on the findings.

• Establish and maintain the master customer file, ensuring that all customer credit data is accurately recorded and filed.

• Manage the company's largest and highest risk customer accounts to optimize collection and bad debt results, while maintaining positive customer relations.

• Regularly perform credit reviews of existing customers to substantiate credit terms and communicate with management accordingly.

• Respond to credit inquiries on customers and release orders in a timely manner based on customer history.

• Review collection reports to evaluate the effectiveness of current collection procedures and determine the status of collections and balances outstanding.

• Oversee the audit of delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before recommending bad debt status on an account.

• Establish and maintain good relations with credit managers of competitors and similar companies for credit reference purposes.

• Assist management in the formulation of credit policies and prepare monthly reports including actual and potential bad debt reports, high risk reports and 3rd party reports.

• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop the credit and collections staff to ensure effective and ethical credit and collections activities. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with Commercial Collections. • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary. • Experience in Billing Functions is required. • Leadership experience is a must. • Applicant must have a strong understanding of Credit and Credit Limit. • Proficiency in QuickBooks is needed. • Expertise in Microsoft Office is necessary. • Applicant should have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. • The ability to handle confidential information is mandatory. • Applicant should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
