Robert Half has partnered with a commercial financial banking organization based in Fort Worth area. Our client is actively seeking a dynamic individual to step into the role of Corporate Controller. Candidates who are driven by high expectations will be preferred for this position. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff.

Essential Functions:

-Oversee the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the financial activities of the organization.

-Responsible for the enhancement and oversight of key financial reporting and general ledger integrity procedures and controls.

-Maintain financial policies, procedures, controls and financial reporting functions.

-Identify, present process and control enhancement opportunities and solutions to senior management and other vested parties.

-Lead, develop, and guide department employees.

-Make recommendations to improve the operations and financial position of the organization.

-Maintains strict confidentiality guidelines in accordance with company policy.

-Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

-Manage a team of 7.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

-6+ years of applicable business experience, preferably with a financial institution or associated regulatory body.

-CPA preferred.

-Proficient and demonstrative knowledge of GAAP.

-Proven expertise in general ledger management, operational accounting, and team leadership.

-Proficient in basic software/systems but not limited to Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI.

-Experience with leading an accounting team, with a track record of identifying potential in candidates and creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

• 6 or more years of Commercial banking experience

• CPA preferred

• General ledger experience

• Financial reporting experience

• GAAP

• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

• Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

• Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
