Air National Guard Units SUPERVISORY GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Summary THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number T5817000. Responsibilities Develops goals and objectives that integrate organizational, supply, transportation and fuels objectives. Delegates responsibility and authority to subordinates. Assists in formulating policies, concepts, and procedures to ensure that an effective LRS operation is maintained using personnel, equipment, and funding to support the mission. Maintain a working knowledge of functional manpower requirements and documents, manning levels, and work with respective flight leadership to address staffing concerns. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides technical and administrative supervision to subordinate personnel. Establishes priorities based on attainment of goals, objectives and work to e accomplished. Assigns work to achieve maximum economy, effectiveness, skill utilization and employee motivation. Provides advice, counsel, and instruction on work and administrative matters. Provides guidance and policy direction in supply and equipment for all assigned units Develops plans, programs, and policies for the operation, management, and administration of current and projected organizational programs Directs the internal surveillance program to scrutinize the operations of all LRS functions to ensure compliance. Obtains, studies, and analyzes programming work assignment and workload documents. Provides oversight of the LRS training program to ensure effectiveness of the squadron enlisted OJT programs. Responsible for the oversight of squadron readiness and ensures reporting accuracy for logistical inputs. Analyzes appropriate supply reports and financial data to provide the LRS Commander with reports of actual stock fund operations as compared to what was programmed and budgeted. Advises the LRS Commander on the status of operations and maintenance and stock fund availability. Functions as an advisor to unit commanders, customers, and Financial Management in the interpretation and use of data produced by the Standard Base Supply System for management and budget purposes, Develops and implements plans and methods to ensure optimum logistical support for financial operating programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. Education You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
