In this role, the Staff Accountant holds responsibility for preparing monthly and year-end closings, fixed asset maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A great deal of time in this position will be spent producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You'll also be involved in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
Responsibilities
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Requirements
Strong attention to detail
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Well-founded grasp of Monthly Journal Entries
Quality experience with account reconciliation
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
Knowledgeable of ERP systems (SAP, AS400, Great Plains, D365, etc)
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Ability to meet deadlines
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
