Parkview North Hospital Oncology Infusion Pharmacist in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Responsibilities: The oncology infusion pharmacist will provide patient care as part of the Parkview Physicians Group (PPG) Oncology treatment team in the Packnett Family Cancer Institute (PFCI) located on the campus of PRMC. This individual will be part of a dedicated team of pharmacists, nurses, and physicians as part of the full PPG Oncology treatment team in the PFCI located on the campus of PRMC. The Oncology Pharmacy Team includes an Oncology Pharmacy manager, Oncology Pharmacy supervisor, four infusion pharmacists, five technicians, four clinical ambulatory oncology pharmacists, a pediatric hematology/oncology specialist pharmacist, an inpatient oncology specialist pharmacist, an investigational drug service team, and a medication assistance coordinator. The full care team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, patient care nurses, research nurses, medical assistants, dietary, and care navigators. The pharmacist will be part of our growing oncology service line focusing on caring for patients within the PPG Oncology offices. This role will facilitate providing patient care also in both inpatient and outpatient infusion as part of a seamless inpatient to outpatient transition. The PPG Oncology Physician Group cares for a variety of oncology diagnoses and is part of numerous research protocols. Clinical protocols include both industry and cooperative studies and will allow exposure to state-of-the-art studies and new drugs in development. The Surgical Oncology Physician Group manages surgical oncology needs of patients using innovation and technology to provide advanced practice medicine. On call rotation is required and shared on a rotational basis with the other PFCI Oncology pharmacists. The team is collaborative and is looking for an additional pharmacist to enhance the patient experience.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution and have experience providing oncology care. Pharmacy licensure, or eligibility, in Indiana is required. Candidates must have a high level of oncology practice skills (residency or equivalent practice experience), enthusiasm for patient care, and the interpersonal skills needed to interact effectively with health professionals, patients, and students. Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy preferred.
