Description
The LBM Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for developing key strategic growth initiatives in collaboration with Purchasing and Operations to drive LBM Sales Growth. The position will be responsible for working with members in the field to identify needs and develop programs to strengthen their relationships with Do It Best along with driving their sales. The position will be a key contributor to supporting ideas, programs and presentations that will assist members’ growth. This position will be responsible for training the traders on strategy and sales techniques on sales initiatives. Focus on these key areas of responsibility will yield the strengthening of the selling skills of the sales team along with supporting members growth
Responsibilities
Partner with Divisional Purchasing Managers to develop strategic sales initiatives and promotional programs with key vendors to drive sales and profitability.
Will work closely with Sales Managers and Members to develop an annual promotion calendar.
Develop and lead training to educate the sales team on these strategic sales initiatives and programs.
Develop dashboards to track key metrics to manage success of sales initiatives and promotional programs.
Manage Sales teams business plans and support managers in measuring results.
Will work closely with members to identify opportunities to grow share of wallet along with discovering opportunities to improve our service model to create stronger relationships with our members.
Lead the coordination of prospecting initiatives in the department
Special assignments and projects as required by sales leadership
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s in sales/marketing/business or related experience
Prior LBM Sales experience and/or industry experience
Prior leadership and management experience
