Parkview North Hospital Integration Device Engineer in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Summary: Responsible for installation, maintenance, and support of clinical applications and clinical devices for Parkview Health, including server and client-side applications as well as supporting clinical device integration and configuration. Works to ensure maximum performance and availability of these systems to our clients and performs troubleshooting and problem resolution when needed. Plans small/medium sized projects by evaluating current systems and those proposed by other teams and vendors. Considers total cost of ownership, supportability and security when proposing solutions. Under general supervision and in a team environment, follows the project management life cycle methodology to implement small/medium system integration projects. Participates in ongoing support of production environments by rotating a team on-call schedule as assigned for 24/7 client support coverage. Embraces change management controls. Provides training and knowledge transfer to Integration Device Development Analyst.

Education: Minimum requirement of an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or Healthcare related fields.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years of comparable experience. Experience in database administration using SQL Server. Possesses the ability to lead and address process requirements. Skilled at problem solving, strong organization skills, strong attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to minimally understand complex issues. Ability to lead a team, communicate, both verbally and written, effectively with technical team, as well as leaders and end users. Ability to design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot application software, hardware, and operating systems. Expert Knowledge in clinical device integration, including but not limited to clinical vitals integration, nurse call, bed management, RTLS systems, sleep study software, and mobile communication platforms. Self-motivated, utilizes critical thinking, logical troubleshooting skills, to resolve or escalate problems beyond knowledge level or available documentation to vendors and team members. Detail oriented with focus on team/peer communication is a must. Demonstrates the ability to independently lead the planning of system projects by evaluating current systems, comparing vendor solutions and cost studies. Understands budgets, as well as tradeoff between cost and user functionality. Skills: implementing, managing and supporting clinical device and system integration. Able to install, configure and manage device hardware such as: capsule neurons, terminal servers, RTLS infrastructure monitors and badges. Software lifecycle knowledge including requirements, design, development, and testing with appropriate documentation. Familiar with Windows server administration. Working knowledge in VMWare, Cisco switching/routing, and biomedical device monitoring systems such as Philips.
