Air National Guard Units FLIGHT SERVICES MANAGER in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Summary THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number T5912200. Responsibilities Administers, plans, coordinates, and directs the activities of personnel performing flight services/airfield management support duties. Plans, organizes, and coordinates airfield management activities during and after airfield operating hours. Develops and manages base flight line driving program to include training, certification, and remedial action when required. Directs the Operations Resource and Flight Management activities and oversees the custodial control and accountability for the AFORMS system. Serves as the Operations Directorate’s Resource Advisor (RA). Serves as primary point of contact for Responsibility Center Manager (RCM) and Comptroller personnel When designated as the wing SORTS manager, collects and analyzes all available SORTS data to ensure accuracy of overall wing report Coordinates air operations functions with air route traffic control center; control tower; aircraft maintenance; crash and rescue; transient alert; and command section. Reviews flight schedules, flight plans, local aircraft clearances, statistical mission data, and NOTAM files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance with governing directives. Supervises the procurement and maintenance of a complete stock level of publications, charts, maps, forms, office supplies, stereo flight plans, and other supplies and equipment. This position is INDEFINITE NTE 24 months, with possible extension up to 60 months, and permanent potential. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience working with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles. Experience in maintenance of inventories and cost computations. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience, education, or training performing, administering, or supervising technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs. Experience interpreting applicable Federal, State, and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Knowledge of transportation requirements and systems for specific geographic areas (International and Continental United States). Education You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
