Do it Best Corp. Credit Administrator in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Credit Administrator Level: Salaried / Exempt Division/Department: Finance/Credit Reports to: Credit Supervisor Travel: Minimal The Credit Administrator is responsible for credit decision making and collection of past due domestic accounts according to established credit policies and procedures. Responsibilities:

  • Manage past due accounts according to established credit policies and procedures with a primary goal of minimizing bad debt expense

  • Maintain regular communication both verbal and written with past due accounts to firmly establish payment plans and expectations. Make a decision when appropriate to place accounts on credit hold

  • Review credit limits for increase or decrease depending on circumstances

  • Request member financial statements for annual review purposes and/or credit limit inquiries. Perform financial statement credit analysis.

  • Assist A/R and members with billing inquiries and discrepancies and perform necessary research

  • In conjunction with Sales determine accounts that should be suspended and the membership terminated for credit purposes

  • Prepare delinquent account reports each statement period

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience

  • Prior collection experience preferably with commercial accounts

  • Excellent knowledge and skills of Microsoft Excel

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • A basic understanding of credit and lending

  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Detail oriented and good organizational skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Works well with others on all levels

  • Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Fundamental understanding of financial statements

  • Makes sound decisions
