Summary About the Position: Manages classroom scheduling process in direct support of the U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School U.S. Army Health Readiness Center of Excellence training mission located at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. The U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence is located in beautiful and historic San Antonio and is within easy commuting distance of desirable neighborhoods and excellent school systems. Responsibilities Manages the classroom scheduling process for all external or non-US Army Medical Department Center and School Army Training Resources Requirements (ATTRS) course requests. Trains and instructs over 50 course schedulers in the use of computer-generated forms used to submit course schedules. Performs web author duties. Notifies course schedulers and leadership of delinquent course submission. Schedules over 400 different courses a year entering over 72,000-line items. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying a practical understanding of the training program; scheduling training courses into an automated training system; utilizing automated system to prepare reports; proofreading and preparing document for accuracy; compiling course and training data related to medical curriculums. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Classroom Management Data Collection and Analysis Education and Training Program Administration Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Specialized training in Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL databases are highly desired to be able to perform daily duties and provide recommendations for general improvements and report creations or modification.
