PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The Diplomatic Platform Support Services (DiPSS) works in support of the Department of State to provide medical support services. The primary scope of this program is to execute medical support services at the United States Embassy and adjacent facilities in the Middle East.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under close supervision, The Administrative Assistant (LN) works to complete defined tasks in accordance with standard procedures requiring some knowledge of general office procedures. Supports general business operations by providing administrative support activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide administrative or secretarial support to a department and/or Manager.

  • Typical duties include general clerical, receptionist and project-based work.

  • Responsibilities may be unique to a specific function or department such as Procurement or Engineering but are mainly administrative in nature.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and time management skills.

  • Expert computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.

  • Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills to direct employees, prepare reports for upper management and facilitate/disseminate information. ​​​​​​

    MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Use of Land Mobile Radios, cell phones, laptop, and other devices to maintain contact and accountability of work activities.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

    · Physical requirements include lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.

    · Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as, hearing and eye protection,

    · Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc.

    · Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    · BS / BA Engineering, Sciences, or Other Related Program Field and at least 8 years of related experience. Advanced Degrees (M.S. / MBA) preferred

    · Extensive Program Management Experience and increasing leadership responsibility. Preferred cross-functional and business experiences.

    · In lieu of formal education, 15 years of related experience.

    · Specific contract requirements will prevail.

    · Must be medically fit and willing to travel CONUS and OCONUS

    · Must be able to lift 50lbs

    · Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current U. S. Driver's License.

    · Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 13 months of remaining validity AND 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

    · Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently

    · Candidates must also meet CENTCOM MOD (Fit for Duty) theater requirements.

    · Must currently possess or be able to obtain prior to being hired as is required for this position a U.S. Government (USG) issued Secret security clearance and/or a favorable USG Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT). Must maintain eligibility at the required clearance or certification level for the duration of the task order.
