Summary This position is located at the 1918 Club which is apart of Fort Moore Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR).This is a Flexible position (00-40 hours) not eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans. This announcement has been extended to 17 September 2024. Responsibilities Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items. Working alone or with the assistance of a higher-grade cook or supervisor, prepares a variety of foodsand desserts according to menu requirements. Follows recipes to prepare items such as soups, stews, casseroles, gravies, sauces, hot cereals,syrups, meatloaf, meatballs, hamburgers, and croquettes. Adjusts recipes for larger or smaller quantities. Roasts a variety of meats such as beef,pork, veal, lamb, fish, and poultry. Grills and deep fries foods. Broils and steams foods. Slices meat by hand and by mechanical means, to specificrequirements. Apportions foods for family style servings as well as for plate service. Prepares vegetables and cold food platters. Make a variety ofsalads and salad dressings. Make sandwiches. Prepares eggs in a variety of ways, French toast, pancakes, and crepes. Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of 6 months of work experience directly related to the duties described above, that included skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment. PCS Costs: Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
