Embark on a dynamic career as a Systems Administrator, contributing to the forefront of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)'s groundbreaking initiatives. Join the team dedicated to the modernization of the Joint Force Headquarters - Department of Defense Information Network (JFHQ DoDIN) security model through the adoption of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA). As a Systems Administrator, your role will be instrumental in ensuring the robustness, reliability, and security of mission-critical systems within the framework of ZTA principles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer and maintain the health of systems within the JFHQ DoDIN, implementing ZTA principles for enhanced security.

  • Perform routine system monitoring, ensuring optimal performance, and promptly addressing any anomalies or issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement ZTA reference architectures, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

  • Conduct regular systems updates, patches, and backups to enhance system security and stability.

  • Respond to system-related incidents, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of ZTA strategies, aligning system administration activities with cybersecurity best practices.

    SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications are advantageous.

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, preferably in a defense or security-focused environment 8-10 years.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, ZTA, and related technologies.

  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent, are desirable.
