V2X Material Expediter(MMD) in Fort Liberty, North Carolina

Under the supervision of the Master Supply Technician and company buyer, the Material Expediter is responsible for procuring, receiving, picking up, storing, inventorying, and distributing materials . This role includes executing local purchase orders as directed by the company buyer, coordinating with local vendors, and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials. The Material Expediter also moves, loads, and unloads equipment, operates forklifts and other material-handling machinery, and maintains detailed records of material transactions. Additionally, they ensure compliance with DoD regulations and contractor policies, and collaborate with the Master Supply Technician, company buyer, and other team members to address any material-related issues promptly.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Coordinates and expedites the flow of materials, parts, components and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.

  • Operates within Global Support System-Army (GCSS-A) as required in order to perform assigned duties.

  • Performs day-to-day routine tasks, in accordance with established guidelines, and receives specific guidance from a supervisor or other official for handling of unusual non-routine problems.

  • Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records.

  • Examines materials delivered to verify if material that was delivered was the type specified and checks for damaged goods.

  • Determines the amount of material needed for specific jobs, applying knowledge of logistics support requirements and processes.

  • Moves or transports materials using material handling equipment (i.e. hand truck or industrial truck)

  • Ensures that material is appropriately identified and keeps records of goods received.

  • Uses computerized systems to compile reports of quantity and type of material on hand.

  • Job duties and responsibilities may charge due to contractual requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

    MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Material Expediter may be required to operate a forklift or other related material handling equipment.

  • Safety shoes and other personal protection equipment such as safety, face mask, vest, hard hat, gloves, and eye wear may be required dependent upon assigned work area.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Material Expediter functions in an office and shop environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the outdoors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic condition.

  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment like a computer, copy machine and printer.

  • Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • Employee may occasionally be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.

  • Rarely will an employee be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

  • A normal work week is 40 hours (5 days per week) Must be willing to work additional hours when mission requires.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling loads up to 50 pounds.

  • Operates a GSA vehicle as required in, on, and around the local area.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School graduate or equivalent is required.

  • Must have a working knowledge and operational experience with the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) and LIW (logistic Information Warehouse).

  • Specific contractual requirements regarding education and experience prevail where applicable.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), SharePoint, and basic Adobe products is required.

  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.

  • Able to react to change productively and handle essential tasks as assigned.

  • Must have a valid State Driver’s License with no restrictions.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.

  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty Installation.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a minimum of two years of related experience. Working knowledge of GCSS-Army is required. Possess basic math, typing/keyboarding, and customer service skills. Must be eligible for issue and possession of a Common Access Card (CAC). Must be eligible to obtain a forklift operator’s license and have a valid State Driver’s License.

    SKILLS:

  • Capable of completing day-to-day routine tasks, in accordance with established guidelines, and receives specific guidance from a supervisor or other official for handling of unusual non-routine problems.

  • Ability to work with the team lead to move parts to the areas of repair.

  • Determines the amount of material needed for specific jobs, applying knowledge of logistics support requirements and processes.

  • Work with the local purchase section to ensure there is a valid order and an expected date of delivery for repair parts and supplies required for the mission.

  • Verify materials delivered are the parts specified and checks for damaged goods.
