Summary About the Position: Serves as an IT Specialist (Operating Systems) for Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Responsibilities Maintain and monitor Common Operational Picture (COP) parenthesis systems and applications Maintain COP database accuracy by troubleshooting errors and coordinating with end-users and various organizations. Identify and resolve technical issues within COP systems to sustain system integrity. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Tagging, Tracking, and Locating (TTL) Systems. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot system application problems and enhance performance. Perform track management duties to ensure an accurate Common Tactical Picture (CTP). Assist and users with system functions to resolve issues and improve COP utilization. Provide training on COP applications to support operational readiness Track data to support mission aligned situational awareness. Monitor system performance metrics to quickly detect and address technical issues. Provide training on COP applications to support operational readiness. Collaborate with System Administrator ears and team members to ensure systems are operational. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Supporting command Common Operational Picture (COP) systems by updating software and hardware to ensure continuous operation, assisting in managing operational databases by troubleshooting issues and coordinating with team members, monitoring system performance to identify and resolve operational issues, providing training on IT tools to enhance team capabilities. Acts as the COP Specialist working in direct liaison with O-4s and O-5s as well as Automation and Information System personnel on a frequent basis. Responsible for working with other team personnel in the correct operation and manipulation of COP and other geo-spatial applications such as Agile Client, Global Command and Control Systems Joint (GCCS-J) Palantir GAIA, Bodhi, Thresher, and other Tactical Data Processors in formulating the command's COP. Programs and troubleshoots Tagging, Tracking and Locating (TTL) devices and works with vendors for development and procurement of new technologies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). My specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving simple and routine problems, questions, or complaints and providing support and guidance to customers on non-routine issues; serving as a primary resource for customers, requesting assistance with complex issues when necessary; and participating in meetings and providing advice to customers in own area of expertise; (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: expressing facts and ideas in a clear, concise, convincing, and organized manner; clearly conveying moderately complex ideas, concepts, and information to customers; exhibiting active listening by demonstrating understanding of audience comments and/or questions; and (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: identifying and solving problems by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources that provide several alternatives; recognizing and taking action to address non-routine problems; soliciting feedback from multiple stakeholders to understand an issue or problem and accurately assess its root causes and potential solutions; seeking supervisory review where appropriate.
