Summary About the Position: This Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation) position is located at Headquarters, US Army Forces Command, Office of the Commander, Deputy Commanding General/COS, Special Troops Battalion with duty location of Ft. Responsibilities Serves as the custodian of military personnel records data for military service members assigned to the FORSCOM and USARC HQ. Reconciles reports with Human Resources databases and systems correcting discrepancies. Responsible for all soldier financial issues, pay inquiries, and finance reports. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) applying military personnel rules, procedures, and operations to provide a full range of administrative and technical military support; 2) reviewing Officer Records Briefs and Enlisted Records Briefs utilizing automated systems to ensure accuracy; 3) proofreading materials to include correction, format, grammar, and punctuation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Clerical Customer Service Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. Additional Information Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 3 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
