Army Installation Management Command Police Officer in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri
Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Police Officers to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Emergency Services office located at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Responsibilities The duties of this position are for the full performance level. The duties at the GS-06 are the same but with closer than normal supervision. Respond to and investigate emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service. Conduct traffic Law Enforcement (LE) patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer. Perform protection duties to deter, detect, and deny unauthorized access at fixed installation, internal compound, and incident perimeter posts. Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal in accordance with federal and state laws to transcribe data. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: (GS-06) One year of specialized experience which includes: applying laws and regulations, to law enforcement operations, practices and techniques; and responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Specialized Experience: (GS-07) One year of specialized experience which includes: applying laws and regulations, to law enforcement operations, practices and techniques; assisting with law enforcement investigations by marking, collecting, and preserving evidence; and responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
