Allied Universal Public Transit Safety Coordinator in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

As an Armed Public Transportation Coordination Center Officer, you will serve and safeguard the South Florida Transportation Agency and its clients by coordinating responses on the railroad.
- (40 hours a week, 10p-6a Thurs/Friday, 2-10 Sun/Mon with 8 hours flex in the schedule)The Public Safety Coordination Center (PSCC) personnel provide a support function to the Train Dispatcher. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Receiving calls from the public regarding public safety issues at railroad crossings, in accordance with 49 CFR 234 (Grade Crossing Signal System Safety and State Action Plans)
Completing emergency response plan checklists contained in SOP 34- SFRTA Emergency Response Plan
Utilizing dispatch CAD screens and the track maps and mile posts to assist first responders during emergency situations.
Regulatory agency notifications to Federal Railroad Administration and TSA
Notifications and liaison with all all first responding agencies along the south Florida railroad corridor.
Database entries in the PSCC incident database
Communication and coordination with the Train Dispatcher and Operations Center regarding signal and Maintenance of Way Contractor responses
Dispatching Security personnel to crossings, and other locations along the corridor where trespassers or other unsafe activities have been reported.
Video monitoring system operation during hours in which the Tri-Rail service is not operating and on weekends.
Minimum Requirements:
Previous U.S. Miltary and/or U.S. Law Enforcement Experience
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience

Participate in industry specific security/safety training programs
