The Back Office Medical Assistant Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. This position is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. The floater will work in various offices to support either the MA role or dedicated lab functions.
Responsibilities
Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.
Support clinicians and care management teams in chronic disease management and patient treatment.
Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
Float between various office locations as patient queue demands.
Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
Assess emergencies and act accordingly.
Maintain knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements, basic medical terminology, and universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma required
2 years' experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting
MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience
Phlebotomy experience required
Must be able to take vitals (manual vitals preferred)
Active BLS required
Active driver's license required
Flexible to adjust to changing work environment
Experience with TriMed EMR preferred
Work Environment
100% onsite: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm AND Every-other-Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm. Floating locations include Coconut Creek, Sunrise, Lauderdale Lakes, Fort Lauderdale North, and Fort Lauderdale South. Permanent opportunity with $0.67/mile reimbursement when traveling between clinics. If floating outside of core locations, a $20 gas card is provided. Willing to train on manual vitals.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00
