Chromalloy Accountant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Chromalloy has expanded from a gas turbine parts repair business into an OEM supplier of production parts and advanced repairs and services for gas turbines used in aviation and power applications. Chromalloy serves the airline, military, marine and energy segments with a broad range of services at locations around the globe.
Summary: The purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day operational support of the CMS accounting system by utilizing Quantum MRO software and MS Office products. This includes the review and tracking of Sales and Inventory transactions with heavy involvement with monthly, quarterly, & year end financial closings, and special projects as directed by the Accounting Manager. This position will work closely with the sales team and remote consignment inventory locations to support financial obligations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Report and reconcile daily bank transactions.
Review, track, and reconcile daily Sales, Cost of Sales, and Inventory transactions in Quantum.
Work with sales and product line teams to ensure accurate costing in Quantum ERP system.
Prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts such as Cash, Inventory, and Inventory Reserve.
Prepare and reconcile month-end consignment reports.
Review various P&L accounts and reclass transactions as needed.
Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
Prepare monthly reports and schedules for corporate requirements.
Prepare audit schedules and compile supporting documentation as needed.
Assist with yearly budget and quarterly forecasts as needed.
Support Manager in continuous improvements of Accounting and Finance processes.
Support Manager in creating and documenting internal controls for all departments.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with finance and operations personnel in order to effectively manage the many day-to-day transactions in the Quantum system.
Assist with AR reports.
Other tasks and projects as assigned.
The ability to learn quickly and proactively is critical.
Must be able to work independently and prioritize effectively without constant supervision.
Strong understanding of systems, financial, and operational processes.
Must demonstrate an effective communication skill/style to present complex ideas in a compelling and comprehensive manner.
Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products. Quantum familiarity a plus.
A relentless and versatile learner who is open to change and enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks.
BA or BS in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of progressive experience
