Summary This position is located at the historic Hacienda, Fort Hunter Liggett, CA. This is an open continuous announcement to provide a ready pool of available applicants as needed. Responsibilities Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing. Prepares hot cereals, concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces and gravies. Makes cold sandwich fillings. Sets up and replenishes salad bar. Prepares food, weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items. Mixes ingredients according to written recipes. Covers, dates and stores leftovers according to established procedures. Operates a variety of kitchen equipment. Disassembles, cleans and re-assembles component parts and accessories. Follows safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment. Cleans, stores and maintains all equipment and work areas after each use. Cleans other work areas and equipment on an established cleaning schedule. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume: Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess. Demonstration of the following work behavior is desirable: a. Neatness and good grooming. b. Dependability. c. Ability to work under pressure. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
