UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies System Programmer in Fort Eustis, Virginia

Overview

Bowhead seeks a System Programmer to support future efforts to the Army’s Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Enterprise Classroom Program.

Responsibilities

• Creates and/or maintains operating systems, communications software, database packages, compilers, assemblers, and utility programs.

• Modifies existing software and creates special-purpose software to ensure efficiency and integrity between systems and applications.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor' s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. (A Master of Sciences degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline will be considered equivalent to one-year specialized experience and two years general experience.)

• A minimum of five years' experience, of which at least three years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes IT systems analysis and programming. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently or under only general direction.

• Trained in Micro Strategy BI architecture, desktop and web development, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server and programming languages in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining Microsoft Web and Directory Servers, Domain Name Servers, VMWare vSphere Servers, Microsoft SQL Servers/Database Servers and Real Virtual Network Computing Protocol Servers.

• Programming experience in ASP.Net, Transact Structured Query Language, Virtual Basic.NET, Cascading Style Sheet Scripting and the design/implementation/maintenance of Web Parts.

• Experience in design/development/maintenance of Platform as a Service in a cloud environment.

• Experience in Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Power Architect applications.

• Experience in database modeling and simulation and administration (Creating Entity Relationship Diagrams; developing, implementing, and maintaining database model/metadata utilizing database normalization methodologies; designing, implementing & maintaining data referential integrity; developing, implementing, and maintaining database schema from database model; web site design, implementation and maintenance and designing, implementing and maintaining complex reports/graphs/dashboards).

• Experience in analyzing organizational business processes, identifying, and quantifying business reporting and data analysis requirements and performing complex data analysis in support of those processes and reporting requirements.

• Security + Certification

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
