Job Title: Bioprocess Technician

Job Description

Perform duties associated with aseptic processes, weighing, measuring, counting, calculations, sampling, and verifications required for biological production processes in accordance with batch production records (BPR) and in compliance with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) standards, all current safety standards, and site procedures. Basic knowledge in fermentation, centrifuge, concentration units, and biological organisms is required. Understands basic operation of production equipment and ensures all equipment, instruments, and production materials are released and available for use. Look up and perform transactions within the electronic inventory management system. Oversee production processes, cleaning, environmental monitoring, and personnel, and perform in-process batch quality checks per the written procedures. Follow safety rules, wear appropriate safety equipment, and maintain proper safety practices at all times. Utilize basic computer skills to create and update standard operating procedures, write deviation reports, and complete all assigned training including general company procedures, area procedures, equipment operation, computer operation, safety, GMP, and more. Generate or collect new ideas about the workplace and processes. Read and interpret batch records, quality, and safety documentation.

Essential Skills

  • Basic knowledge in fermentation, centrifuge, concentration units, and biological organisms.

  • Understanding of the basic operation of production equipment.

  • Ability to perform transactions within the electronic inventory management system.

  • Ability to oversee production processes and conduct in-process batch quality checks.

  • Knowledge of safety rules and practices, and the ability to wear appropriate safety equipment.

  • Basic computer skills for creating and updating standard operating procedures, writing deviation reports, and completing training.

  • Ability to read and interpret batch records, quality, and safety documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • No degree required, but scientific-related experience is preferred if no degree.

  • Basic computer skills.

Work Environment

Work within the lab 5-10% of the time. Primarily be on the production floor overseeing batches and their quality. The role offers PTO and paid holidays. Available shifts include 1st shift (6AM-2:30PM), 2nd shift (2:30PM-10PM), and 3rd shift (10PM-6:30AM). Overtime will be offered until fully staffed with these 5 spots.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $32.00/hr.
