New Product Introduction Engineer III

Position title: New Product Introduction Engineer III Reports to: Director of Operations Engineering Department: Operations Location: Fort Collins, Colorado, On-site General Purpose: In-Situ's NPI Engineers are key members of the product development and launch team. They provide manufacturing technical expertise and leadership as new products are co-developed through the R&D and Manufacturing project phases, leveraging best practices within the environment of a Lean, data-driven organization. This role will ensure critical DfX milestones are achieved through the product development process and will design production systems and processes used in the manufacturing and testing of In-Situ's products. The NPI Engineer will use Lean/6s tools to drive continuous improvements in the NPI and manufacturing processes that lead to continuous improvement in In-Situ's safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. The Operations Engineering team consists of a broad range of engineering roles including Technicians, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Quality, and Supplier engineers. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for production cell design including designing/implementing manufacturing assembly/test fixtures, defining ERP routers/workflows, creating effective standard work instructions/LMS tutorials, defining/documenting test requirements, leading cross-functional PFMEAs, and production capacity modeling. Collaborate with the project design teams to prepare project timelines, identify all resources requirements, and provide program leadership to achieve key financial/operational/quality KPIs for manufacturing processes. Provide thought leadership, design principles, and key metrics that enable manufacturing to provide high internal and external quality. Engage with R&D engineering, production/production planning, quality, SQE/SQD, service/technical support, and supply-chain to execute on transition of design prototypes into sustainable, cost efficient, and high-quality production volumes. Proficiency in problem solving methodologies, leading root-cause investigations, designing/implementing corrective actions, and tracking the long-term effectiveness of RCCA's. Enthusiastically participate in In-Situ's change management, Agile methodologies, and Lean/6s approach. Position Qualifications 10+ years of experience working to solve product and manufacturing problems within a team of multiple engineering disciplines/responsibilities, supply-chain, and quality professionals. Requires a 4-year bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, or industrial). Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly process information. Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams. Applicant must be eligible to work in the United States. Skills Process oriented with the ability to balance operational consistency and ongoing process improvements. Keen sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize, manage scope creep, and close on issues. Able to synthesize information from ambiguous situations to create and articulate, clear and compelling guidance using Willingness to take on a wide variety of responsibilities, being personally responsible for results. Embrace change and challenge the status quo. Demonstrated history of excellent written and verbal communication skills. High regard for both internal and external customer needs. Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 3D CAD experience desired (SolidWorks preferred).Working Environment/Physical Activities This role is on-site, 5 days per week, in Lean Manufacturing environment utilizing machines and materials, and depends on direct and daily communication with production personnel. Hybrid/remote work is not available for this role. General office environment with time spent each day in production areas and with cross functional teams. This role may require occasional travel (up to 10%). Total Rewards Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data and internal comps. Salary Range: $90,000-125,000 Additional Compensation: Participation in a Company-sponsored variable compensation plan.
