Description of Work Unit
As one of five departments in the College, the Department of Accounting currently has 16 full-time faculty members. The department offers a Master of Accountancy degree and an undergraduate concentration in accounting. The Master of Accountancy and the undergraduate program have outstanding career placement rates and are consistently the top programs in the state for graduates passing the CPA Exam. Position Summary
The teaching load and course assignments are made by the chair of the Department of Accounting. Teaching needs vary and could include financial, managerial, intermediate, advanced, tax, governmental, auditing, systems, and ethics. Teaching could be days or evenings and in-person or online. The expected start date for this position is August 2025.
This is a part-time 50% FTE , continuing faculty appointment, with an expected workload of 20 hours per week.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the Accounting Department will not sponsor a visa for this position now nor in the future.

Required Job Qualifications
Master’s degree in accounting or MBA with accounting focus or equivalent from a school of business accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International), OR
substantial executive-level relevant experience in tandem with a relevant undergraduate degree, OR
earned doctoral degree in the relevant area of study, OR
doctoral candidate in the relevant area of study.
Preferred Job Qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in teaching accounting classes at both the introductory and upper-division level.
Potential to teach graduate level accounting courses.
Demonstrated willingness and ability to teach a variety of accounting topics (e.g., financial, managerial, tax, governmental, auditing, systems, and/or ethics).
Business experience in relevant subject areas.
Professional certification in accounting (e.g., CPA , CFE , CIA , CMA , etc.).
Experience with multi-media teaching techniques.
Potential for or demonstrated excellence in curriculum development and service.
