Akima Motor Vehicle Mechanic in Fort Cavazos, Texas

Akima Support Operations is currently seeking Motor Vehicle Mechanic to support the Eagle LSS Contract in Fort Cavazos, TX.

Responsibilities

  • The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.

  • Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

  • Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of motor vehicle maintenance experience.

  • Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.

  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Ability to bring and use own tools.

  • Ability to receive a favorable Tier-1 Investigation result.

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3-5 year’s maintenance experience preferred.

  • US Army MOS 91/63 series qualification.

  • Experience on US Army tactical vehicles.

  • CDL Preferred.

  • Valid Driver's License.

Pay Rate:

  • Hourly Compensation: $21.67.
