U.S. Army Medical Command Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation) in Fort Carson, Colorado

Summary About the Position: Incumbent will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation), in the Military Human Resources Division with MEDDAC, Troop Command, Headquarters Support Company A, Fort Carson, Colorado. Responsibilities Directly assists the Company Commander in providing military personnel administrative support functions. Responsible for monitoring, managing, reviewing, verifying, and coordinating military personnel information and documents and for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all transactions. Utilizes several military personnel database systems to update, maintain, and manipulate information and to ensure the most current and accurate information is available in the systems. Administers, processes, and maintains the unit’s Military Awards and Decorations Program. Incumbent is the key individual concerned with maintenance of awards and decorations, policy and program implementation, ensuring that policies outlined in regulatory guidance is followed. Maintains liaison with several personnel agencies on post, to include the Military Personnel Division (MPD) and Military Pay Office. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience applying Military Human Resource (HR) rules, procedures, and operations in order to processes a variety of enlisted, officer and HR actions, review military personnel records and documents; experience performing a variety of automated operations and functions such as word processing and database management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Clerical Human Resources Technology Usage Oral Communication Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
