Amentum, a large government contract company, is seeking an Electrician to support a program based at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO. The hourly pay will be $37.28, with an additional $7.87-$10.34 towards Health and Welfare benefits.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Work involves most of the following: Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as exterior lighting / circuits, generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment; and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. This position requires working primarily outdoors in various types of weather conditions. Must be able to operate and work from various lifts and bucket trucks. Will be responsible for working with vendors to procure quotes for replacement parts and equipment, will also be responsible for the proper documentation of work performed and materials used.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a minimum of six (6) years journey-level experience and have completed a formal apprenticeship or equivalent formal vocational/technical training program on industrial electrical systems. Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.

• Must maintain required city/county/state license(s) and/or certification(s), where applicable.

• Must have a valid state driver's license.

• May be required to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

• For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record within the past 36 months, as defined by Company policy.

• Must be 18yrs of age and must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

PREFERRED :

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
