Strategic Communications Specialist- Technical Writer & Editor   Job Description Summary:    D&G is seeking a Technical Writer and Editor to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Public Affairs Office (PAO). The contract intends to create an agency strategic communication plan (ASCP) that consolidates and focuses its communication efforts from across the agency and provides overall guidance and direction to the decentralized communication nodes throughout the agency. An applicant will be required to apply their strong analytical and technical skills to assist in implementing business solutions. They will be directed to exercise core skills on projects, or they may direct small teams. A successful candidate should have exceptional communication skills and be prepared to engage senior Defense Department leaders in a fast-paced, dynamic, high-profile position.   Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Create, maintain, and document technical articles and policies

  • Review, critique, edit and organize written publications for intended audience

  • Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to develop content and white papers

  • Coordinate special documentation services and develop templates for document development.

  • Document an organization’s current business process flows

  • Develop project documentation and user training materials according to program specifications

  • Conduct user training sessions, prepare communications plans, conduct research and analysis

  • Perform program management support tasks, such as status reporting and workplan maintenance.

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or 7 years of directly related experience substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in strategic communications, change management, analysis, or business process redesign.

     Eligibility Requirements:  

  • Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:  

  • Experience with Strategic Communications or Public Affairs in support of a government agency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite

     Location:   

  • Hybrid. This is primarily a remote position; however, the applicant should be available for client engagements at Fort Belvoir as required for collaboration and project success.
