DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position offers interns the opportunity to acquire valuable experience in various aspects of park operations, resource management, administration, and environmental education. The selected student will be stationed at Worlds End State Park and will also have the chance to work at other state park field sites. Throughout their internship, they will learn how to effectively oversee a park maintenance program, actively participate in park inspections, assist with organizing recreational and educational activities, manage the park's natural resources, and collaborate with park staff to implement statewide park operation rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment The employment period will occur between the dates of 5/1/24 - 8/30/24. Typical work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with 30-minute lunch. Student may work nights and weekends, not to exceed 37.5 hours a week. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors: Parks and Recreation Management Parks, Recreation and Tourism Environmental Recreation Tourism Management An approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable. Freshman year completed. Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher) Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

Additional Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
