Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Forest Park, Illinois

Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in FOREST PARK, Illinois. In this role, you will support various financial operations and contribute to team projects. Your core responsibilities will include month-end, quarterly and year-end close, maintaining internal controls, system processes, company policies and accounting procedures, and assisting in the preparation for audits.

Responsibilities:

• Aid in the successful completion of month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

• Perform bank reconciliations, update cash records, and handle fixed assets and inventory.

• Assist in the preparation for audits and manage entries related to WIP Construction.

• Handle sales tax exposure and refine internal controls, system processes, company policies and accounting procedures.

• Process weekly payroll and accounts payable checks efficiently.

• Collaborate with IT departments to ensure smooth operations.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Acumatica in the processing of journal entries and account reconciliation.

• Leverage skills in General Ledger and Balance Sheet Reconciliation in the execution of tasks.

• Be an active participant in team projects, contributing ideas and strategies.

• Use your expertise in Construction Accounting for more industry-specific tasks. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is a must

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Mastery in Microsoft Excel is required

• Prior experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with Construction Accounting practices

• Experience with Acumatica ERP software is highly desirable

• Must possess strong communication and organizational skills

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required

• detail oriented certification such as CPA is highly desirable

• Must be legally authorized to work in the specified location

• Must be willing to adhere to all company policies and regulations.
